My Software Set-up

At the centre of my trading lies a collection of bespoke and off the shelf software products. The software I use and I we use it is briefly described below.

I will be adding further video demonstrations of the software, together with explanations on how I use standard tools (such as MS Access and Excel) to record and (hopefully) improve my trading.

This section is under development – expect more details and video demo’s shortly.

1. Market Analysis – Tradestation 8.2 with the following custom indicators and paintbars

  • Heikin-Ashi paint bar
  • The Squeeze indicator
  • The Force Index Indicator
  • The Bollinger Band – Keltner Channel Divergence Paintbar
  • Darvas Box Indicator
  • ADX Paintbar
All the above indicators and paintbars will shortly be made available for download. Please note, we are not claiming the ownership of ANY of these Easy Language documents. All (bar The Bollinger Band – Keltner Channel Divergence Paintbar) have simply be adapted by me, using code found on the internet.

2. Radar Screen linking Tradstation to Excel – feeding my spreadsheets and databases with live market prices

3. MS Excel Reporting & Analysis Spreadsheet – click here for a video demonstration

4. MS Excel Market Analysis Spreadsheet with automatic buy/sell signal algorithms

5. MS Access Trade Capture and recording system – linked into Excel for reporting

6. Tradestation Desktops and Workspaces

Weekly, daily, hourly workspace, all linked to the markets I follow with all the indicators I use to analyse the markets

An Intra-day Scalping Workspace (currently used on YM)
An Intra-day Market profile Workspace
An Intra-day Floor Pivots Workspace
All the above workspaces will shortly be available for download.
