The World Money Show in London was a great experience for me. I hosted a panel discussion on Spread-betting and then was part of the panel discussing Spread-betting and CFD trading. I was certainly interesting to here the views of the professionals and also to meet so many self-directed traders.
Being on a panel of professionals, I certainly felt like the outsider! I felt like I was representing the audience, which I hope I was . The honesty and transparency of my trading, is something that I really hope appeals to other traders and it was great to meet some like-minded individuals and have a chance to discuss my passion with people who share it.
As you always expect at events like this, there was the usual mix of companies trying to sell dreams. I overhead one guy demonstrating his software saying ‘Follow this system and I guarantee you that this will make money!’. Now that stuff really REALLY angers me! Why oh Why do people fall for this rubbish. STEER CLEAR GUYS. THERE IS NO HOLY GRAIL!!
I also did a Video Interview for the Money Show video network which was a great experience. Lets hope they captured my better side! I’ll post the links as soon as I have them.
In both the video interview and on the panel discussion I mentioned some slides that I had put together.
These slides show some of the software that I have built over time in order to help me in my trading.
The first slide shows the result of my scan on the FTSE 350 Stocks. From memory, you’ll see that on 29-Oct-2009 (the date of the scan), 64% of FTSE350 stocks were BEARISH (ed: typo!). This helps me to work out what overall market sentiment is. This slide also shows how many FTSE350 stocks are in the squeeze, broken out according to their Bullish/Bearish nature. (Click here for more details on the squeeze) and check out these series of posts just talking about my squeezing trading (one of the strategies I use in the AtticFund)
The next 3 slides show how I record my trading and what kind of information I am able to pull from my trading at the touch of a button. These slides are real screen prints of the AtticFunds trading performance.
I will be going into much more detail on my trading strategy in upcoming posts.
If you took one of my cards – Thanks very much for showing an interest. Much appreciated! Please be sure to sign-up to my email list so that we can keep in touch.
Cheers

It drives me crazy when I watch informercials on TV saying “3 green light buy” “2 red lights sell”. What a bunch of garbage. Moving averages I assume but there are so many people who believe (or at least want to believe). There is no “holy grail” and certainly no guarantee.
good post and good luck.

Still too many snake-oil guys around. And the thing is, there always will be! Sales guys run the planet. People always want t o buy into a dream – hey, wouldn’t it be much easier to make a million without having to do much!! Steer clear!
The link to the slides is not working. Has it been put down or just broken? Thanks.
Hi Moazam – thanks for pointingt his out to me. Please use the link below.

Thanks Daniel! The link works. I am interested in the Squeez and read more on it on your blog. The software in the screens, have you developed it yourself or a package being used?
It was a pleasure to meet you on the world money show!
Hi Moazam, glad the link works. The software on the slides is software I have developed myself and which I find incredibly useful, both for analysis of trading opportunities and recording. I’ve been working for a while now to make this software much easier to use, so I can offer it to blog readers – however that is a slow process! Do you have anything you use at the moment in order to monitor your trading activity?
